To check how much free space you have on your drive, click on the Apple menu on the top left corner of your screen, select About This Mac, and then go to Storage. Catalina’s download file is north of 6GB large, and you’ll need to have 15GB to 20GB of free space to complete the installation. If the error relates to the installation being unable to continue, one possible culprit could be low disk space. If you’re attempting to download the files over Wi-Fi, you may want to consider switching to a more stable wired Ethernet cable (if your Mac has an ethernet port) for better results. A likely culprit is that a lot of your fellow Mac users have been attempting to do the upgrade at the same time, and that’s putting extra stress on Apple’s servers. Many consider Tiger to be the best “classic” version of Mac OS X. While Panther inflicted Macs everywhere with Brushed Metal, its wallpaper stayed on brand, refreshing the original 10.0 image. In my head, the trails streaking across the screen were from a set of comets. Jaguar took the same Aqua-inspired theme but added some depth and motion to things.
